The East end of the Eastern-most building at Navarre Beach, this 1 bedroom, 1.5 bath condo sleeps 6, is completely furnished featuring nautical decor with ships and lighthouses. It is right below the penthouse. Master bedroom is a king and looks North over the Intracoastal Waterway and the beautiful Navarre Bridge. 2 bunks are in the hall that kids will love, Queen sleeper in the living room overlooking the Gulf. The balcony overlooks the beach and old fishing pier, as well as a 40 mile unobstructed view to the East and West coastline. The new 1500 ft pier is due for completion by Summer 2010. Pelicans and sea birds fly past your window on the 14th floor and you can see 40 miles to Destin and Pensacola Beach with views in all directions from Summerwind.
Summerwind is a 3-building complex with 3 pools and hot tubs, exercise facility overlooking the beach, complimentary lounge chairs at the pools, boardwalk and showers for beach-bathers . The famous white sand beaches is great for shelling; the pristine water is emerald green and clear most of the time. The old pier is habitat for fish and birds, with turtles nesting in the Summer and hatching in September. Many wonderful restaurants right in the area, great shopping and scenic adventures await.
Across the street on the Bayside is the State Park boat launch with jet ski and sailboat rentals nearby. Plenty of trailer parking if you bring your own boat for fishing or pleasure cruising. There are kayaks and surfboad rentals at the State Park concession next door. Diving and snorkelling under the old pier is fun and popular and equipment is available for rent. Fishing supplies easily available and catching is good off the Navarre Causeway bayside or in the surf from shore or by kayak. Bike rentals available and popular with miles of bike trails along the pristine beaches. The Blackwater State Park is fun for canoeing with it's clear spring water. Golf courses are near and far. The Butterfly House is unique in presenting a memorable experience to children and adults alike. The Visitor's Center on Hwy 98 close to the Navarre Bridge is home to a wealth of information, a picnic and playground area, and jogging trail. Pensacola and Pensacola Beach offer fine restaurants and historical tourist attractions, such as the Ft. Pickens State Park and the Pensacola Naval Air Station. Air shows are a big attraction on the beach and the Blue Angels perform in Pensacola Beach occasionally. With some unique aircraft in the area, it's not unusual to see a surf-kiting or para-surfing exhibitionist on the beach!
The balcony view is sensational from this Summerwind condo and gives a bird's eye view of the crystal clear Gulf with it's schools of fish, dolphins, manta rays and is as close to paradise as you can get!
